How do I Calculate my Cost of Fuel?
A simple way to estimate your cost of fuel is to refer to your latest natural gas utility bill. Find the total energy used, expressed in Therms or BTUs or standard cubic feet. Use the following to convert to Million BTUs (MMBTU) if needed:
MMBTU = Therms/10
MMBTU = standard cubic feet / 1000
Take the total bill amount in dollars and divide it by the total MMBTU to get the cost in $ per MMBTU. If you need help, please contact Capstone.
